A Slightly Glamorous Success – Dymocks Chatswood In-Store Book-Signing Event for “Nor the Years Condemn” by Justin Sheedy
On Saturday 8th August 2012 I was thrilled to be invited by Dymocks Chatswood to an in-store book-signing event for my latest book, “Nor the Years Condemn”. Though my book is being Really well received – REVIEWS HERE, I’m still technically what is known in the Biz as ‘a struggling author’. So, on the day, I hoped that the event would go well, that I’d sell a swag of books, have a lovely time meeting and chatting with Dymocks store customers while signing copies of my book for them. This is what I hoped for. …I didn’t expect GLAMOUR… Yet Glamour happened…
In the form of a genuine Patron of the Arts (and struggling authors), Ms Angela La Camera Paino who graced the event with her presence. My thanks to her, and my privilege to meet such a great Soul.
Added to this lovely happening, the day did indeed turn out as I’d hoped: In the morning I’d wheeled in a suitcase packed with copies of my book, and in the afternoon wheeled out an empty one. All of which had been signed and sold. Huge thanks to Dymocks Chatswood Book-Buyer, Petra Grotjahn, and to ALL the staff at the store – a really great bunch of girls.
My book “Nor the Years Condemn” is as of now stocked by Dymocks Chatswood, Dymocks George Street Sydney (who’ve just re-ordered for the 4th time), also Dymocks Macquarie Centre and Dymocks North Sydney – with more stores hopefully to follow. (NOW also at Dymocks Broadway, Bondi Junction, Rouse Hill & Camberwell – Dymocks George Street 7TH re-order!) The book is also available as a print-on-demand paperback at AMAZON and as an ebook at SMASHWORDS and through all major ebook sites.
Also thanks (with Sparklers!) to Collette McGrath, Dynamic Czarina of PR, for securing my radio interview to publicize the Event as well as for promoting “Nor the Years Condemn” to Chatswood Library.
Yours Very Gratefully, Justin Sheedy.
