Comment on “Plain Woman” by Ross Fear, Australian Spectrum, 2CCR-FM
I was lucky enough recently to be interviewed on Ross Fear’s “Australian Spectrum” show on Radio 2CCR-FM 90.5, 9pm-12, Tuesday nights. I had no idea before the show that Ross happens to have been a key mover and shaker in our Oz Rock History: He gave AC-DC one of their first major gigs. If not their first. (?)
Ross came back to me just now with a very kind comment on one of my short stories. The story is “Plain Woman”, a piece based on the true story of my paternal grandmother.
Ross is a fascinating bloke and kind soul indeed: After the show, he drove me (past midnight) all the way from Baulkham Hills to Surry Hills, and then he had to drive BACK! Brilliant talking to him and being on his radio show. Here’s what he said on Facebook about my short story…
“An interesting and potentially important literary capture of another aspect of our real social history. Justin’s exploration of the social history of real people and real life styles makes a valuable contribution on capturing the real Australia and it’s people. Keep an eye on this author – as he captures more of Australian life and social history.”
Thank YOU, Mister Fear.
